Prep League/Middle School Athletics

Prep League Sports, in cooperation with Kroenke Sports Charities, have partnered to create programs in DPS that encourage academic success and school pride. Prep League consists of over 30 schools and 6,000 students having the opportunity to play against other schools in their division, in organized after-school educationally based athletics.

What you need to participate:

  1. Must be a current 6th, 7th or 8th Grade student.

  2. Student must be academically eligible.

  3. The participation fee of $35.00 per sport, must be paid to complete the registration.

    • My Spark Denver has been launched through a partnership with the City and County of Denver, Mile High United Way, and Gary Community Ventures to increase access to after school and extracurricular activities that can have positive benefits for youth. The program does that by providing $1,000 debit cards directly to students and families so that they can choose the youth activities that they’re most interested in.  Denver Public Schools Middle School Athletics (DPS-MSA) is an approved partner and the MySpark card can be used for the DPS-MSA participation fee.  To apply for the MySpark card prior to completing the sport registration, please click here.

  4. Physical Exam and Medical Clearance to Participate

    • A completed Physical Examination and Consent must be current and on file with the Director of Athletics for your students school.  The form above is highly recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

    • Denver Health’s School-based Health Centers (SBHC) form a large network of 19 health centers located inside Denver Public School (DPS) campuses that provide medical, mental health, dental and behavioral health care to any DPS student and sibling(s), including children enrolled in DPS-affiliated Early Childhood Education programs at no charge to families. We also offer health education and family planning, as well as insurance enrollment and advising services.
