Prep League is supported financially and philosophically by a number of partners in the Denver Community. DPS Athletics is very lucky to have the support of our founding partners Kroenke Sports Charities (Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids) as well as The Colorado Rockies and The Denver Broncos. DPS Athletics is proud to be aligned with such committed community partners and knows the value that all of these sports entities brings to Prep League.
Prep League began with a vision from the Denver Nuggets that would help to fill a 30 year void of not having organized after-school sports for middle school aged children. In 1997, the Nuggets stepped up to create the Nuggets Middle School Prep League. the Prep League began with 17 schools and 700 kids participating. In the 19 years since, Prep League has grown to 30 schools and over 6,000 kids participating in after-school, educationally-based athletic programs. Prep League added the Colorado Rockies in 2005 to provide Baseball, Softball and RBI summer program. in 2008 Prep League was please to announce the creation of Futures Football with the support of the Denver Broncos.
Prep League is based in success in the classroom and challenged every participant to maintain academic eligibility on a weekly basis in order to participate after school. While we are funded by our wonderful partners, we do ask that our participant do their part in ensuring that our programs have the resources needed to maintain the league.
